Panaya for SAP

Clone Fixes

Newly generated clone fixes will become available as semi-automatic fixes for your EHP/SPS upgrade, S/4Convert, and S/4Accelerate projects. The semi-automatic fix includes an explanation and guidance on what must be reviewed before the fix is submitted.

Code Re-submission

When attempting to submit automatic code fixes that were not successfully submitted, Panaya will retry submitting issues recognized as possible for re-submission.

Panaya ForeSight for Salesforce

Reference Type for Triggers

The Reference Type column and filter were recently added to the List and Graph views. It now supports Apex Trigger relations between Objects and Fields and related Process Builders, Flows, and Approval Processes.

Quick Actions Impact Analysis Support

Panaya ForeSight now includes Quick Actions as a supported component type. They are displayed in the All Components view and the Free Text Search.

Queues Impact Analysis

The Impact Analysis for Queues has been expanded to show the dependencies for Flows, Process Builders, and Approval Processes.

Exporting Linked development items

We added a new export option for linked development items (typically requirements or features) in June. With this release, the exported spreadsheet includes all the displayed list columns.

Reprioritization of Related Notes

Our team reprioritized certain 'how to' and 'problem' related notes (also known as bug notes). Medium-priority related notes now appear as Low priority, if they exist in the source version, reducing the number of notes we recommend focusing on.

Intelligent Code Remediation (ICR)

Starting this release, Panaya limits the number of objects and issues that can be submitted. Users can submit up to 1000 issues or 100 objects at a time.

SAP Change Analysis

ChaRM Integration

Panaya now supports syncing your transport requests from ChaRM from multiple SAP systems to different Panaya systems and projects.

Testing Risk Pane Improvements

We simplified our Change Analysis testing risk pane for better clarity by highlighting existing tests recommended for optimal coverage.

For missing tests, we now display high and medium-risk-related tests that are scoped in and need to be covered.

Generating Tests by Relevancy

Panaya highlights tests by their relevancy for optimal test coverage when generating new tests.

Queues Impact Analysis Support

Panaya ForeSight now includes Queues as a supported component type. They are displayed in the All Components view and the Free Text Search.

All Components view improvements

• The following columns can be displayed and filtered in the All Components view - Updated Fields, Referenced Fields, Record Objects, and Referenced Objects. They are relevant for automation like Apex Triggers, Approval Processes, Flows, Process Builders and Workflows.
  
  

• Creation Date

  The creation Date can now be displayed and filtered for custom components.
  We added it as a default column in the Predefined View for Empty Description Fields. This new addition is helpful when taking action on recently created custom fields. The date will also appear as a default column in the Potential Technical Debt view.
  
  

• Salesforce ID

  The 18-character unique Salesforce ID will be available as a new column in the All Components view. It will also appear as a default column in the Predefined View for Unused Reports and Dashboards. This new addition is helpful when deleting Unused Reports by exporting the Salesforce ID and loading the CSV list to a data management tool.

Reference Type for Flows, Fields, and Objects

ForeSight now displays additional information for Flows to show how Fields and relevant objects are consumed. The Graph and List views show which fields are Referenced, Updated, Created, and Deleted.

Stacked Columns Widget

We added a total value label for each bar in the stacked columns widget in custom dashboards.

Entity Distribution Widget

You can now use this widget to display the percentage of the highest value.

Deleting Evidence

Need to clear out test evidence from the Panaya cloud? We added the option to delete and clear test evidence. A new permission has also been added to support this action and must be granted to users before they can clear test evidence.

New Path Filter for the Step Lists

You can easily use the new Path filter by selecting the relevant nodes from the tree structure to filter displayed items in the step list.

Suggested Tests from Other projects

With this release, the testing risk pane allows users to search and clone relevant tests from other Panaya projects.

Testing Risk Pane Improvements

Our Testing Risk pane, in the testing tab for development items, has been fine-tuned to include existing tests, missing tests, unanalyzed transports, and scoped-out entry points with medium and high risk. We also added the sum of added or generated tests for clarity.

Target Only Column for Corrections

The correction list in your S/4Accelerate project now includes a new column - “Target Only.” Use this column to optimize and prioritize your correction workload by highlighting the required correction specifically for the target version.

Intelligent Code Remediation 3.0

We are excited to introduce the new generation of our Intelligent Code Remediation solution. We increased the coverage by up to 98% with automatic fixes. In addition, code cleansing activities are now covered with auto-fixes, supporting your clean-core-related activities.

NetWeaver Notes

We added SAP NetWeaver 7.5 notes categorized as “problems” as potential notes for your SAP S/4HANA conversion project. You can find these notes in the Related Notes correction category.

API Tokens

API Tokens enable quick Panaya authentication with the HTTP Authorization request header, and they do not expire. We added the option to use them for direct API calls without a preliminary short-term access token through the Login API. Our new API Tokens can also be called from Panaya’s Automation Rule Center with a single transactional API call.

Feature to Transport Mapping

We added a new option to associate features (or requirements) to transports by uploading a simple Excel template. You can do so from the Development / Workstreams list view.

Adding Comments

Users can now easily add comments to the code comparison view in the code remediation workspace. These comments will then appear in your SAP ABAP code once submitted.

Custom Surrounding Comments for Automatic Code Fixes

The Intelligent Code Remediation setup now allows you to customize your own surrounding comments to be added before and after an automatic fix submitted by Panaya.

Simplification Items Note Updates

Starting with this release, Panaya will highlight Simplification Items updated by SAP since your last review in Panaya and display them as “Updated.”

Referred Notes for Simplification Items

Our S/4HANA Conversion projects now provide additional information about notes mentioned in Simplification Items. The added information appears in a new “Referred Notes” section and is generated by AI. To enable this feature, please contact Panaya support.

ExplAIn Generative AI

The ForeSight ExplAIn solution using Generative AI to explain component logic is now accessible from additional places in the UI, including the All Components view, the Automation Overview, and the Impact Analysis List view. Generative AI - Simplification Item Note Summary and Actions

Panaya extends its AI capabilities, introducing AI-generated suggestions for Simplification Items corrections. Your SI activities now display the Notes Summary and Note Actions with an option to provide feedback for the suggestions. This new information allows you to instantly understand what the Simplification Item is all about and how to handle it efficiently.

In this release, our Oracle team introduces several additions to our Risk Analysis Report:

Change Analysis: Introducing Test Relevancy

Let us save you time when reviewing and identifying high-impact tests. The new Test Relevancy metric is based on the number of used entry points and whether tests are original or duplicates. The algorithm also takes into account coverage and priority. Relevant tests are marked with a star for easier and quicker scoping.

We improved our search engine for scoped items by allowing up to 1500 results. To match the industry standard, we replaced the wildcard character in the search from % to *.

We added the option to set up parent and child dependency fields for custom fields. This way, users can only select fields according to the set dependency.

Pausing SAP GUI Recording

Similar to the pause button already included in our web recorder, the pause button can now be used in SAP GUI recording of tests and scripts. 

Change Analysis Testing Risk 

We added the testing risk to the transports and impacted entry points grids for maximum visibility when adding transports or reviewing entry points for test coverage. You will also find the testing risk indication when adding suggested tests and generating unit tests. 

Enhanced Requirements State

The state section in the general tab for requirements has been improved to include the number of linked transports in addition to the development progress, current testing risk, testing status, and related defects and their statuses. Users can click on the number of linked transports to manage them. 

Testing Risk Panel Counters

Our change analysis users can now see how many tests were created and linked to cover impacted entry points and the number of scoped-out high-risk entry points. This information is available in the testing tab for your requirements.

Empty Transports Indication

We added a new icon to indicate empty transports, allowing you to recognize them easily when associating them with requirements. 

Related Notes for SAP S/4HANA

We are expanding our coverage for S/4HANA with a new code correction category for S/4HANA projects to allow you to resolve technical and legal issues in advance proactively. The new Related Notes corrections deal with post-version release notes released after the official SAP S/4HANA version. You can enable Related Notes and select relevant countries when creating new S/4Convert or S/4Accelerate projects.

Salesforce Industries (SFI) Support 

Our Salesforce analysis now supports Salesforce Industries (SFI) - formerly Vlocity. You can review dependencies between SFI Omni Studio components and view the source code for JSON representation for Omni Studio components.

ForeSight Change Notifications Exclusions

You can now exclude the following from your Change Notifications digest - 

External package changes (updates, uninstall, install)

Specific component types such as CPQ, SFI, and Advanced Approvals Configurations.

Internal configurations such as metadata stored as data or data-driven.

Change Notifications Email Enhancements

Your Change Notifications email digest is now easier to understand and drill down. Numbers in the email are now clickable, and the email Subject will include the number of changes and the relevant Orgs.

With this release, our team introduces better test documentation for SAP SuccessFactors screens allowing our customers to benefit from detailed test documentation for all testing cycles in SuccessFactors projects (implementations, new modules, upgrades, etc.) Our test evidence provides better-recorded activity accuracy, including button clicks, drop-downs, lookup values, ShadowDom support, and more.

Linking Development Items from Other Projects

Level 1 development items (typically requirements or features) can now be linked to development items from other projects. Check the Search in all my projects checkbox to view items from other connected projects.

Exporting Linked development items

We added a new export option for linked development items (typically requirements or features). The exported spreadsheet includes the selected development items and linked items' information. This feature is enabled for Release Dynamix subscriptions.

Triggering API Web Requests

You asked for an easy way to paste a list of IDs for it to be displayed in a list. This helpful feature allows you to paste a list of IDs, such as from an Excel file, and create a custom list filtered by IDs.

Regulated Cycles

Our team made some important updates to our regulatory compliance support.
Users can no longer add, edit or delete test attachments for signed tests.
Users can no longer add, edit or delete step-level attachments for signed steps.

Rerunning Automation Playlist

The Rerun button now provides two options - 

• Rerun failed runs (#)
  This option displays the number of failed planned runs in a selected playlist. Selecting this option will generate a new playlist containing the failed planned runs.

• Rerun entire playlist
  This option will execute a replica of the selected playlist with all planned runs. 

Additionally, we renamed the Test Result column to Run Results. 

Impact Analysis

Correction List Enhanced Filtering

Many correction list filters, like Title, Object name, and Main programs, now have selectable value options - Contains, Not Contains, Starts/Ends with, and Empty/Not empty.

• SP Notes in Test List
  A new SP Notes column appears in the Test list, displaying the number of notes associated with each test. This column is clickable so that you can drill down to the Impact Analysis tab in your tests.

Our analysis now generates unit tests for all custom Fiori apps using ODATA related to RFC.

Consistency Checks - Runtime Failures

We have improved how we handle simplification item failure. After five failures, Panaya will generate new dedicated correction activities for fixing the error and re-running the simplification item.

Salesforce CPQ Analysis

ForeSight now supports Salesforce CPQ configuration data impact analysis.

The new feature includes three main capabilities - 

• Impact Analysis for CPQ components using the Search and Analyze

• Use the Free Text Search to find occurrences of keywords within the CPQ configuration data

• Integration with the Test Management so you can easily create or link relevant tests based on the Impact Analysis results.

Dashboard Widgets - Steps

Our dashboard widgets now support the new step list. Display assigned steps by the team, steps by the user, and more. Use the following widgets to define and track steps metrics  - View counter, Field calculation, Entity distribution, and Stacked columns setup.

To get the most out of these widgets, create custom views to make them available in a dashboard widget. Users can drill down to view the list of steps by clicking on the gauges in the widgets.

Progress Exception Type in Lists

Need to set certain exceptions out of scope? We added a new column for the Correction and Issue lists, so you can easily filter, sort and group by it and perform bulk actions.
The new column displays the following values - Object not found, Issue still exists, or Object in use (for Back to Standard projects).

We also renamed two columns in the lists for better clarity - 

• Task Status Change Type has been renamed Progress analysis status in the Correction list.

• The Issue Status Change Type has been renamed Progress analysis status in the Issue list.

Recommended Regression Tests for Standard Fiori Apps

As of this release, Panaya will generate unit tests for standard Fiori apps that are in use and impacted by notes. Reupload your custom code for your S/4Accelerate project to review the generated tests.

Last Run Evidence in Step List

We made reviewing test evidence simple. The new step list now allows browsing through the evidence of multiple steps. Our team has added an Evidence column to the step list so that you can click on the link and immediately review the evidence. Use the select columns button to add the evidence column to the list.

• An option to select grouped columns for bulk actions

• Navigating between screens keeps your collapse/expand preferences for grouped columns.

Test Management & Execution

New Step List We're excited to introduce a long-awaited feature and the newest addition to our testing module for those of you who need an accurate step-level report. The new step list allows reviewing all steps from all test activities, including helpful information like step testers, priority, team, status, etc. The new list includes filters, grouping, and custom views capabilities as in any other list in Panaya. You can use this new list to view steps (cross-tests) from a specific team or align steps throughout your project’s test steps.

Web Scripts Parameter Support
Need to validate the same data is being used across multiple systems in your automated script? You can now build end-to-end business process scripts and script variants for web applications. This release introduces recorded web script parameters capabilities that allow testers to add and manage script parameters, design data sets, and set test variant values for execution.

Defect Influence (System-Wide Defects) Usability Improvement Linking steps to defects? To ease your work, the ‘Link steps to defect’ pop-up search results now display the test ID and the step number (#), making it easier to recognize the appropriate steps for linking. We also added the option to filter the displayed search results.

Easy Patch Extraction through Concurrent Programs We added the option to extract patches by executing a concurrent program that will download the patch for you, run the extraction tool and send the requestor an email with a link to the extracted zip file. We expect a significant reduction in the time and efforts invested by DBAs when extracting patches.

New Corrections Type for ATC Simplified Transactions
We added a new correction type for ATC Simplified Transactions in Literals in the Custom Code Preparation correction category. This new correction type will report simplified transactions that are only used in string literals.

Usability Improvements 

• Graph Legend Filtering User Experience
  We changed the way the graph legend filter used to work, making it more intuitive and easy to use. By clicking on a component type in the graph legend, the graph will be filtered to show (instead of eliminate) components of the selected type.
  
  

• 360° Analysis is now the default analysis

  
  

  As of this release, the default selected analysis is our 360° Analysis, providing users with insights into the impacted and impacting components. Use the drop-down to select other analysis options.
   
  
  

• We renamed the “Enabled” field and filter to “Active” to align with Salesforce’s terminology.

New Look & Feel for the Defects, Corrections, and Issues Modules 

We are rolling out our new user interface design for defects, corrections, and issues while keeping functionality for these modules unchanged. You can now see more and do more with up to 1,000 items per list page so that you can perform bulk actions on more items. We also enabled selecting list grouped items by displaying the total sum of items per group (the total for all list pages).

We added a new correction tab displaying the main program details, where a fix may be required.

New Correction List Analysis Progress Filters

Recent Analysis Progress Report Exceptions are now available for selection in the corrections list. Simply add the 'Task status change type' filter and select from "Automatically closed," "New Generated," or "Exceptions."

We are expanding our risk-based testing capabilities with new columns for Change Analysis development items. 
 

• Covering Tests Column
  The new column appears in the Change Requests list and displays the number of tests for each in-scope entry point.
   

• Tests Status Column
  The new column appears in the Change Requests list and displays a progress bar with color indicators allowing an understanding of the distribution of related tests by status.
   

• Change Requests Column
  This column has been added to the Tests list/span> in the testing tab for all Change Analysis development items. The column displays a list of all change requests associated with each in-scope entry point.

The long-awaited mega-feature is here! Automation rules allow you to automate processes by setting rule triggers, conditions, and actions. You can even tailor customized email notifications, mentioning specific Panaya fields and including direct links to Panaya activities.

For example, you can define a rule to send a notification email whenever new defects are created with high priority or if an owner has not been assigned.

We are empowering our recently released Change Intelligence capabilities with the below new additions.

Related Changes
We added a new tab in the test step details popup, displaying all related change requests for each test step.
Panaya will display the relevant CRs and their associated impact explanation.

Test Failures for Change Requests
Our Risk Based Testing Summary now highlights change requests associated with test failures for you to review. This will help you understand which change requests are risky to deploy.

In addition, your Change Requests grid now displays each change request and its relevant test failure count. By clicking on the test failure count number, you will be able to view a table with details about the failed tests and steps.

Automatic Custom Code Extraction Compression
Our custom code extraction program now zips for you, so you no longer need to archive the output before uploading it to our Code Box.
