Extracting vanilla source code from production

Prev Next

Typically, Panaya extracts the source code of your programs using the Panaya_PRD (usage RFC).  However, after the first analysis, it may not be possible to use an RFC to your production system.  In these cases, you must run the extraction program directly on production and extract the vanilla source code.

To enable this feature, please contact Panaya Support.

  1. Upon completing your first extraction analysis, download the latest version of the Panaya code extraction.

  2. Install the Panaya code extraction program on the production system and select the “Vanilla extraction only” option shown below.

  1. After the process is complete, a file will be created, in our example, VANILLA_PROGRAMS_ECC_20250204_112253.xml, in the location-specific in the background mode section.

  2. Move the file from the production server to your local machine.

  3. Install the same Panaya code extraction program (downloaded in step 1) on your development system, select Full Extraction, then select the file located in the local machine.

  4. Follow the rest of the steps depending on the extraction type

  1. After the complete extraction, upload the file to Panaya Code Box.
