    Patches Extraction Prerequisites

    Before running the Patches Extraction Program (PTL), please make sure that you have the following requirements - 


    User Privileges

    Run the Java program on the Oracle Apps Server using the same user that was used to install Oracle Apps. Please make sure that the Oracle Apps OS User that you are using to run the extraction has access to the Oracle Apps Environments (e.g. $APPL_TOP).
    Use the “apps” database user or a user with equivalent privileges.

    • 1.7

    Storage Considerations

    • Server Storage
      It is recommended to copy the patches extraction tool file to a directory with 500MB-1GB free space.
    • Database Max Extents
      Please remove the database Max Extension limits.


    Patches Files

    Please make sure the patches are downloaded to a directory on your Oracle Apps Server.
    Use a directory that will contain only the ZIP files of the patches that you want to analyze before they have been installed.

    Do not unzip or install the files.
