Requirement Test Plan

If you have already created your Requirement or used the Import Requirements Wizard, you can define the Test Plan by linking these Requirements to existing test activities.

Good to Know!
Once you link Tests to a Requirement, the Requirement will appear as Covered.

Below are several workflows to select from when linking Tests and Requirements.


From the Development List

Use this option to link several Requirements with a single Test

  1. From within a Project, select the Development tab
  2. Select one or more Requirements / Features / Analyses (Level 1 activities).
    Then click on Link to... >  Test.
  3. The Create Link dialog box will appear
    Use the search box to type the Test ID or Name, then hit Enter
  4. Locate the Test you wish to link and then use the Link button.
    The Requirement / Feature / Analysis will then appear as Covered.
    You will be able to view the reference to the linked Test under the Testing tab for the Requirement.


From a Requirement / Feature / Analysis 

Use this option if you need to link from a single Requirement to one or multiple Tests.

  1. Open up a Requirements / Feature / Analysis
  2. Select the Testing tab > Tests > Link Tests and use the search box to type the Test ID or Name, then hit Enter.
  3. Locate and select the Tests you wish to link and then use the Link button


From a Test 

Use this option to link a single Test with multiple Requirements / Features / Analyses.

  1. Open a Test and select the Linked requirements tab
  2. Click the Link Requirement button
  3. Use the search box to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter.
  4. Select one or more Requirements and click on the Link button.


From the Test 

Use this option if you need to link an entire Cycle, Folder, or Business Process to a single Requirement.

  1. Select the Tests tab and then Tree view
  2. Highlight and then right-Click on a Cycle, Folder, or a Business Process
  3. Select Link to Requirement
  4. Use the search box to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter.
  5. Select the Requirement from the displayed list
  6. Click on the Link button


From the Test List 

Use this option to link multiple Tests to a single Requirement

  1. Select the Tests tab and then List view
  2. Select one or more Tests
  3. Click on the Link to Requirements button
  4. Use the search box to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter.
  5. Select the Requirement from the displayed list and click on the Link button.
