# Automatic Activity Closure

If you upload your updated custom code to Panaya's Code Box, Panaya will analyze your system and automatically close activities.

In general, users should close the correction after completing the remediation. As a best practice, the user responsible for the remediation should update the task status accordingly.

The following activity types will not be closed automatically -

- Fix RFC call in an external system
- Validate Inactive User Exit
- Validate Batch Input Programs
- Upgrade 3rd-party Component
- Functional Corrections
- Testing activities
- [Cloned Programs - Click here to read more](/v1/docs/when-does-panaya-automatically-close-cloned-program-tasks)
- [Related Notes](/v1/docs/related-notes)

For **Back to Standard**project type, project activities will be automatically **closed**when -

- The associated object was deleted.
- The associated object was assigned to 'Z_UNUSED' dev class

Project activities will be automatically marked as an **exception**when -
- The associated object has been changed
- The associated object is being used in your Production system

Note:Activities that have been scoped out will not be automatically closed by Panaya
