# Usage Explained

SFDC provides usage collection mechanisms for the impacted components. With every extraction, Panaya carries out the following - 

- Extracts the existing usage history from each different usage mechanism
- Aggregates the existing usage information in Panaya

Panaya collects the usage statistics for the components listed below -

- Dashboards
- Reports
- Visualforce Pages

[Without Event Log Monitoring Data](/v1/docs/required-salesforce-user-privileges-for-metadata-and-usage-extraction)

- Reports (View Reports in Public Folders is required to retrieve usage for all public folders reports)
- Visualforce Pages (version 42 and above) (requires Customize Application)
- Approval Processes
