3. Verify that **pop-ups**are **enabled**on your browser
4. This is where you can manage your **Sandbox**and **Production Organizations**-

## For the **Sandbox Organization**

Enter the relevant Salesforce org login **URL**and click on **Authenticate.**You can also use the default login [http://test.salesforce.com](http://test.salesforce.com).

Enter the login credentials for a Salesforce user that has been granted the [required user permissions for the metadata extraction](https://success.panaya.com/docs/required-salesforce-user-privileges-for-metadata-and-usage-extraction#sandbox-organization). The Salesforce user **must have** a Salesforce user type license, an API integration license is not valid.

Good to Know!If you have completed migration to Enhanced Domains, you should use this format for your Sandbox org:
*MyDomainName--SandboxName*[.sandbox.my.salesforce.com](//.sandbox.my.salesforce.com)
In your org Setup check the OAuth and OpenID Connect Flows options:
The setting **Require Proof Key for Code Exchange Extension for Supported Authorization Flows** should be set to **Off**.Good to Know!If you want to extract metadata only from your Production org, you can enter the relevant Salesforce login URL in the Sandbox Organization, or use the default login [http://login.salesforce.com](http://login.salesforce.com).

## For the **Production Organization**

Select the checkboxes for the type of information you wish to collect. Then, enter the relevant Salesforce org login **URL**and click on **Authenticate**. You can also use the default login [http://login.salesforce.com](http://login.salesforce.com).

Enter the login credentials for a Salesforce user that has been granted the [required user permissions for the metadata extraction](https://success.panaya.com/docs/required-salesforce-user-privileges-for-metadata-and-usage-extraction#production-organization-optional). The Salesforce user **must have** a Salesforce user type license, an API integration license is not valid.

Good to Know!If you have completed migration to Enhanced Domains, you should use this format for the Production org:

- **Usage Information**
Select this option to retrieve and set the [usage levels for certain component types](/v1/docs/what-usage-information-is-collected-by-panaya-1)
- **Components maintained in Production**
Select this option to retrieve the metadata for component types if their Last Modified Date is later than the same component in the Sandbox.
Panaya retrieves Reports, Dashboards, Page Layouts, and Mini Page Layouts from your Production org if their last update date is newer in production than in the sandbox.

Good to Know!Check [here](https://success.panaya.com/docs/org-overview-dashboard#where-is-the-metadata-extracted-from)to understand how this checkbox affects the behavior of the [Org Overview Dashboard](/v1/docs/org-overview-dashboard).Important!If either of the checkboxes are checked but the Production Organization is not authenticated, no Usage or metadata information will be retrieved from Production.

1. In the SFDC pop-up, fill in the **username**and **password**. The user used here should be [assigned the following privileges.](/v1/docs/required-salesforce-user-privileges-for-metadata-and-usage-extraction) How to check your Salesforce user has the [minimum needed privileges for the extraction](/v1/docs/how-to-check-required-privileges-for-metadata-extraction).
