# Test and Defect Reminders

**Reminder notification emails** can be automatically sent to the relevant **testers** and **defect owners** who are currently blocking the test progress.

**From within a Project -**

1. Hover over the **Tests tab** and select **Test List.**

2. Select the relevant Tests and click on **Send Reminder**.

3. **Add a note** that will appear in the email notification, then click **Send Reminder.**

**Send reminders only for overdue tests**  
Select this option if you wish Panaya to only initiate email notifications for [overdue tests](/v1/docs/what-are-overdue-tests).  
When selected, Defect Owners **will not** **receive** notifications.

## **Who will receive** **the notification?**

- **Testers** assigned to Ready to Test Steps.
- **Defect Owner** - for Steps with associated open Defects
- If no Tester or Defect Owner is assigned, the notification will be sent to the relevant **Project Manager**

**Can't find this button?** The Send Reminder button is only available for users with the Mass Edit [permission](/v1/docs/how-to-allowdeny-user-permissions).

**Good to Know!** If multiple reminders are initiated for the same users, a single notification will be sent with the specification of relevant Steps and/or Defects.
