# Run & Document Oracle Tests

## **Viewing your Tests**

The easiest way to view your tests for the very first time is to look for an email from noreply@panaya.com. Click on the link within the email to go directly to the [lists of tests assigned to you.](/v1/docs/how-can-i-view-activities-that-are-assigned-to-me) Alternatively, follow the instructions below.

1. [Login to Panaya](/v1/docs/how-to-log-in-to-panaya) Are you having trouble logging in? [Click here](/v1/docs/having-trouble-logging-in-to-panaya)
2. Click on the **Menu button**and select the **Project.**

3. **Your Tests Counter**

The counter represents the number of tests currently assigned to you that are [Ready to Test](/v1/docs/when-are-steps-ready-to-test).

**Click on the counter**to view them in a list.

## **Launch the Recorder**

1. Select the **Steps tab**
2. Select to **Run & Document** a particular step to**launch the Panaya Recorder**

## Recording Options

Select **Recording Options![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1640182750067.png)**, to determine what applications should be captured -

- **Oracle EBS** Select this option to record your Oracle session. Your test evidence will pick up the fields used, input data etc. Use the **Review Oracle Systems**option to display a list of systems that can be recorded. This option does not support Oracle Cloud screens. **Oracle EBS systems** that appear behind the **Review Oracle System(s)**button, **will not be captured**. Select this option if capturing **Oracle Cloud**screens.
- **Web Browser (Chrome, Edge)** Select this option to record business processes that can be performed on a web browser. Initiate the recorder from the browser you wish to record. This option supports Internet Explorer and Google Chrome browsers only. [Capturing Google Chrome requires the installation of 2 Chrome extensions.](/v1/docs/setting-up-google-chrome-to-work-with-the-panaya-recorder-player)
- **Other Applications** Use this option to capture other applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Windows Folders or any other screen activity not performed in your web browser or Oracle Applications. Use this option if you need to capture Adobe Flash applications or screens.

> Can I select more than one option simultaneously?
> 
> - Yes, you can select Oracle EBS & Web browser (Chrome, Edge). Your Test Evidence will include activities performed both on Oracle EBS and your browser. Activities will be grouped by application/form.
> 
> - You can select Web browser (Chrome, Edge & Other Applications. Your Test Evidence will include activities performed both on your browser and with any other application such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, etc.
> - The recording options selected during capturing will be used on playback, and the user playing back the recording will require the installation of the relevant browser extension(s).

## **Begin Capturing**

When you are ready to begin capturing, select the [**application to record**](/v1/docs/how-to-run-document-oracle-tests) and then click **Start Recording ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/Update%20article%20Oracle%20with%20arrow.jpg)**

The recorder will appear in its **minimized view**![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1640182777191.png) . You can now go ahead and perform the business process. Panaya will capture your actions according to the selected applications.

> [!NOTE]
> Important!
> 
> - The recorder will not begin capturing until you click on the Record button.
> - Please allow a few moments for the recorder to appear in its minimized view before performing any further action.
> - Panaya allows a maximum idle time of 30 minutes while recording.
> - Any idle time of 30 minutes or more will cause the recording to abort.

## **View Test Information**

Use the **Test Information button** to display the following information - **Name**, **Description**, **Transaction**, **Guidelines,**and **Expected** **Results**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1640182800017.png) Also provided here are the **input data**, **previous step evidence,**and any**attachments.** The input data can be modified under the **Data tab**for each Test and is not specific to the current Step.

## **More Options**

You can **pause**the recording if capturing activities using the**Browser (Chrome, Edge)**, [Other Applications](/v1/docs/can-i-capture-non-erp-applications-1), or bothoptions simultaneously. Click on the Pause Recording button again to **resume**the recording. The idle time when using pause is 2 hours. If you need to pause for longer, use the suspend option below.

### **Suspend Recording**

At any point during the recording, you can disable **Browser (IE, Chrome)**, [Other Applications](/v1/docs/can-i-capture-non-erp-applications-1), or both from being recorded. This option is handy if you need to record web applications (such as Oracle Cloud Applications) and [Other Applications](/v1/docs/can-i-capture-non-erp-applications-1) (such as Excel) intermittently ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/change-recording-option(1).gif)

When you have completed your testing activities, use the **Stop Recording** button**.** Mark the Test as **Passed,** **Failed,** or**In Progress**.Fill in the **Actual Results**details and add a relevant **comment**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1640182943139.png)

> **Stop and Resume Later**
> 
> You can capture your actions, stop the recording, and set the status as In Progress.
> 
> Testers can then resume the recording later, and select whether they wish to add new captured activities to the original recording or initiate a separate test run.

If you come across a defect during your test, you can report it immediately by clicking on the **Defect**button.

If you would like to add test evidence notes during the process, click on the **Notes**button in order to include these notes as part of your test evidence. The notes are attached to the activity.

Use this button If you would like to add a step from any other application. You can **select the application from the list** and Panaya will capture a **screenshot**. The **Settings** section is also where you can turn on Troubleshooting Mode if requested by Panaya Support
