# Disconnecting Fields from a Project

You can disconnect a Custom Field from a specific project, so it will not appear in the project activities. [To learn how to delete a Custom Field, click here](/v1/docs/how-to-delete-a-custom-field).

To **disconnect a Custom Field from a project**:

1. Click on the **Settings button ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1639062834771.png)**to open up the Settings panel
2. In the **General section**, select **View & Manage Fields & Tabs Customization**

3. Select to view Custom Fields **By Entity**

4. **Highlight**the Custom Field that you wish to disconnect

5. Select the **Projects tab** from the details pane and uncheck the project that you want to disable the Custom Field from

6. Select to **Save Changes**

**Note**

- Panaya keeps the defined Custom Field data for your project activities so that you can reconnect the Custom Field at a later time
- A Custom Field must be connected to at least one project
- You will need the Create/Edit Projects [permission](/v1/docs/how-to-allowdeny-user-permissions) to disconnect a Custom Field from any project
