# Adding Tests

A test activity is a business scenario that you would like to test. It contains one, or multiple steps assigned to a tester, e.g., Quote to Cash for Domestic Customers is a test, which contains the following steps: Create Sales Order, Create Outbound Delivery, etc.

Whether editing [imported tests](/v1/docs/test-import) or adding new tests manually, you can [define many different aspects of the test](/v1/docs/where-can-i-view-the-test-details), including [custom fields](/v1/docs/how-to-define-custom-fields).

1. [Login to Panaya](/v1/docs/how-to-log-in-to-panaya)
2. Use the **Menu button ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1722513695957.png)**to open up a **Project**
3. Hover over the **Tests tab**and select **Test Tree**

4. Use the Test Tree on the left-hand side of the screen to**select where in the**[**Tree**](/v1/docs/tree-view) hierarchy you wish to create the new test. **Right-click** on a **Project**, [**Cycle**](/v1/docs/how-to-create-a-new-test-cycle), [**Folder**](/v1/docs/what-are-panaya-folders)**,**or [**Business Process**](/v1/docs/what-are-panaya-business-processes)****and select **Add**.![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1747560132508.png)
