# Closing Defects

**From within a Project -**

1. Select the **Defects tab** To view your [assigned](/v1/docs/how-can-i-view-activities-that-are-assigned-to-me) Defects, click on the number within the tab.

2. Click on the Defect ID or Subject to open up the Defect details.
3. Select **Close**to close the Defect.

4. Add a **Comment**(optional)

[Use the @](/v1/docs/how-to-add-a-comment-to-an-activity) when writing Comments and **collaborating with other project users**.

The tagged user will be notified with an **email notification** and a link to the activity in Panaya.

5. Click **Close**

**Note** You can only close Defects that were already resolved
