# Allowing Apps in Windows 10

**Microsoft Windows 10**may be preventing the Panaya Testing Tool (Recorder / Player) with **Microsoft Windows 10** and encounter the below error message. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f404076c-de23-4609-848e-2dfd4ef701b0/Images/Documentation/image-1639923851132.png) Click on the **Details**button to see the error message in the log file. If the error is "**Lock timeout exception**", follow the below solution.

1. In Windows 10, click on the **Start Menu**
2. Select **Settings**
3. Select Apps / System, then **Apps & features**
4. Under **Installing apps**, set to**Allow apps from anywhere**
