# AI Prompts: Wrap exact text in quotes

When your prompt checks for specific text, put it inside single quotes ('), double quotes (") or backticks (`). This tells the AI exactly which text to look for.

- **✅ the first word is 'testdata'**
- **✅ the first word is "testdata"**
- **✅ the first word is testdata**
- **❌ the first word is testdata**

Use straight quotes (' or "), not curly quotes (‘ ’ or “ ”). Curly quotes are often added automatically when you copy text from Word, Outlook or a phone. If you're not sure, use backticks (`).
