What are the differences between a Test and a Quick Test?

Tests (Guided Testing)

Tests are high-level descriptions of the steps required to validate a functionality or an end-to-end process
  • Brief descriptions in business language (e.g. Create Purchase Order)
  • Different testers per step
  • Progress tracking at the Test and the Step levels

Quick Tests (Scripted Testing)

Quick Tests contain detailed descriptions of the actions required to validate a functionality

  • Each step contains the exact actions to be executed in a single screen.
  • Planned Runs enable to run a test from start to finish, usually by the same tester, with different data
  • Mostly used for regression testing
  • Progress tracking at the Quick Test and the Planned Run levels
