Step by Step Guide to Panaya Test Dynamix

Are you new to Panaya? This article will take you through the steps of setting up you and your team to work with Panaya Test Dynamix.

  1. Create Users and Define Role Type  
    You can use our User Management Console to create a new user for anyone on your team that will be using Panaya. 
    You can assign users with roles and permissions to define what they can or cannot do in the application. 
     
  2. Create your Project and Link the Relevant Users
    Here's how to Create a New Project. This article will guide you through the process of creating a project based on the testing activities you wish to perform in Panaya. Once you have created your project, you will need to connect the relevant users. By default, any connected user will be able to view the project content. If you wish for users to perform specific actions, you will need to assign them to the relevant roles and permissions
     
  3. Build the Hierarchy of your Project 
    The Tree View offers a dynamic way for users to build the hierarchy of their testing project. You can begin by creating a cycle and then adding folders or business process as grouping elements for your testing activities. If you plan to import tests, you should know that it is possible to auto-create this hierarchy when Importing from file or using the Test Box.
     
  4. Create and assign your tests
    After you have created your cycles and folders you will proceed to create test activities either manually or by using one of the import options below. When adding your tests manually, you can assign each step to the relevant tester by using the tester field. 

    It is highly recommended to use the Import from file option. This import method allows for your test to appear immaterially for further scoping and assigning.  You can define the hierarchy of folders when importing from the template. The template will also offer a field where you can select the tester you want to assign each of the steps you are trying to upload. 

    In addition to a manual test creation and the Panaya test template, you can import your existing WordExcel or PDF based test plans using Panaya’s Test Box. Within 48 hours, the tests will be ready for you in a Cycle names Imported

  5. Launch the Cycle, Execute Tests and Report Defects
    Once your test library is ready, you can launch the cycle to allow your testers to execute their testing activities. When executing test steps, testers will have the ability to use the Panaya Recorder to automatically document the evidence of any performed action.

    We encourage you to accelerate testing with the Panaya Player. The player allows testers to playback an entire business process from beginning to end.

    Defects encountered during the execution stage can be reported during test execution or after the test is completed. In this article, you will find more information about defect management with Panaya. 
     
  6. Link requirements to Tests and Defects 
    The Requirements module enables you to track your requirements and their relevant test activities, ensuring full traceability of all your changes. Enjoy all the benefits of Panaya Test Center such as easy to understand Test Evidence and Defects per Requirement. Track the progress of all Test Cycles, until the requirement has been validated by the business, prior to release to Production.
     
  7. Monitor the Progress of Your Project
    Panaya offers a range of dashboards and reports that allow the monitoring of progress of any change project. The ListView, for example, allows you to customize the report of your Tests, Defects, Requirements in order to see the information that is relevant to you. The Dashboard will give you a summary of each Cycle and its current stage.  Additional Reports with insightful information are available under the Reports tab
