How to define the Test Plan of a Requirement?

If you have already created your Requirement or used the Import Requirements Wizard, you can define the Test Plan by linking these Requirements to existing test activities.

Good to Know!
Once you link Tests to a Requirement, the Requirement will appear as Covered

There are various options for you to link between Tests and Requirements - 

From the Requirements List
Use this option to link several Requirements with a single Test

  1. From within a Project, select the Requirements tab
  2. Select one or more Requirements 
  3. Click the Link to (1) button and then Link To Test (2)
  4. The Link Test to Requirements page will open
    Use the search box (1) to type the Test ID or Name, then hit Enter
  5. Locate the Test (2) you wish to link and then use the Link button (3)
  6. The Requirement will then appear as Covered.
    You will be able to view the reference to the linked Test under the Test Plan tab for the Requirement. 

From a Requirement 
Use this option if you need to link from a single Requirement to one or multiple Tests

  1. Select the Requirements tab and Open a single Requirement
  2. Select the Test Plan tab and click on Link Test Cases
  3. Use the search box (1) to type the Test ID or Name, then hit Enter
  4. Locate the Test (2) you wish to link and then use the Link button (3)

From a Test 
Use this option if you need to link a single Test with multiple Requirements

  1. Open a Test and select the Linked requirements tab
  2. Click the Link Requirement button
  3. Use the search box (1) to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter
  4. Select one or more Requirement (2) 
  5. Click on the Link button (3)

From the Test Tree View
Use this option if you need to link an entire Cycle, Folder or Business Process to a single Requirement

  1. Select the Tests tab and then Tree view
  2. Highlight and then Right-Click on a Cycle, Folder or a Business Process
  3. Select Link to Requirement
  4. Use the search box (1) to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter
  5. Select the Requirement (2) from displayed list
  6. Click on the Link button (3)

From the Test List View
Use this option to link multiple Tests to a single Requirement

  1. Select the Tests tab and then List view
  2. Select one or more Tests
  3. Click on the Link to Requirements button
    If you select Link Selected, Panaya will only link the selected Tests
    If you select Link All, Panaya will link all items on all pages 
  4. Use the search box (1) to type the Requirement ID, Name or Description, then hit Enter
  5. Select the Requirement (2) from displayed list
  6. Click on the Link button (3)
